Nicholas Paul Cecchetti, a 27-year-old officer with the Stockton Police Department, tragically lost his life on August 3, 1978, while serving a narcotics search warrant. Officer Cecchetti was entering the rear door of a suspect's home when he encountered the suspect attempting to flee. In the ensuing moments, Officer Cecchetti stumbled on the steps and fell forward.
