David Brian Kubly, a 23-year-old police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, tragically lost his life in the line of duty on September 27, 1979. Officer Kubly had been serving with the department for 18 months when the incident occurred. On that fateful day, he attempted to stop a vehicle that had run a red light, unaware that the driver was a robbery suspect.
