James Evans, a 39-year-old deputy with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, tragically lost his life on May 9, 1980, during a violent confrontation following a bank robbery in Norco, California. On that fateful day, five heavily armed men, dressed in Army fatigues, stormed the Security Pacific Bank, initiating a series of events that would lead to a deadly shootout.
