Officer Donald F. Reed, a 27-year-old member of the Garden Grove Police Department, tragically lost his life on June 7, 1980, while attempting to serve a felony arrest warrant. The incident occurred at a local bar located at 8112 Garden Grove Boulevard. Officer Reed, along with three other officers, had successfully apprehended the suspect and were escorting him out of the establishment.
