Kenneth Fredrick Perrigo, a 32-year-old deputy with the Shasta County Sheriff's Department, tragically lost his life on October 21, 1991, in the line of duty. Perrigo, who had served nearly a decade with the department, was transporting two suspects, Tomas Cruz and Carlos Estrada, to the Redding Jail after arresting them for public intoxication.
