Sandra Resendez, a 13-year-old girl from Landers, California, tragically lost her life on January 26, 1996. The incident occurred when Martin Mendoza-Garcia, her stepfather, carried out a violent attack that resulted in the deaths of Sandra, her brother Erik Resendez, and her cousin Wendy Cervantes.
