Wayne Bowers, aged 43, tragically lost his life on December 18, 1997, in a horrific shooting spree at a Caltrans maintenance yard in Orange, California. The perpetrator, Arturo Reyes Torres, a former Caltrans employee, embarked on a vengeful rampage after being fired from his job. Torres, armed with an assault rifle, a shotgun, and a handgun, targeted his former workplace, killing four people, including Wayne Bowers, and wounding several others.
