Susan Jane Berman, a journalist and author, was found dead in her Beverly Hills home on December 23, 2000. She was 55 years old at the time of her death. Berman, the daughter of mobster David Berman, had written extensively about her father's involvement in organized crime. Her death was initially a mystery, but it was later revealed that she had been shot execution-style, a method often associated with mob killings.
