On January 27, 2004, Edgar Valles, a 22-year-old resident of La Puente, California, was tragically murdered in South Whittier. Valles, along with his friends Mario Larios and Fernando Pina, responded to an advertisement for a customized Chevrolet Monte Carlo priced at $8,500.
