Michael Guadalupe Esparza, known as "Magic Mike," was a 34-year-old tattoo artist who tragically lost his life on May 1, 2004, after being shot in his tattoo parlor, Body Illusions, located in South Whittier, CA. On April 26, 2004, Esparza was working at his shop, giving a tattoo to a customer when three men wearing motorcycle gear entered the establishment around 3:30 p.m. One of the men opened fire, striking Esparza in the head.
