In the pre-dawn hours of March 28, 2017, the quiet of a Baltimore neighborhood was shattered by a woman's scream. Responding to a call for a cutting in the 3500 block of Esther Place, police discovered a tragic scene. April Ellis, a 34-year-old Caucasian woman, was found suffering from a severe stab wound to her abdomen.
