Rosendo Manrique, a 24-year-old Latino man, tragically lost his life on March 9, 2008, in Val Verde, California. The incident occurred around 12:13 a.m. in the 28700 block of Lincoln Street. Manrique was attending a birthday party when a confrontation erupted between him and another Latino man. The altercation escalated quickly, leading the other man to draw a handgun and fire multiple shots. Manrique was struck several times, and another Latino man was also injured in the shooting.
