Hermilo Talamantez III, a 34-year-old Latino man, was tragically shot and killed on September 25, 2007, in Val Verde, California. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. in the 3500 block of Arlington Street during a dispute between neighbors. Talamantez had a long-standing acquaintance with his neighbor, Clarence Pullum, a 38-year-old Black man. The altercation between the two men escalated from a verbal argument to a physical confrontation, leading both to retreat to their homes and return armed.
