Jose Villa, aged 36, tragically lost his life on August 9, 2008, in Paramount, California. On that fateful day, Villa and his neighbor, Candido Salazar, were enjoying a barbecue in the parking lot of their apartment complex on Rose Street. The peaceful gathering turned deadly when two young Latino men approached and opened fire, killing both Villa and Salazar.
