Ladislao Chavez, aged 52, tragically lost his life on September 15, 2008, in Vermont Vista, California. Chavez was riding his bicycle in the 11000 block of South Vermont Avenue when he was fatally shot in the head shortly after 12:35 p.m. The incident occurred in broad daylight, adding to the shock and distress of the local community.
