James Lowell Capoot, a 43-year-old police officer from Vallejo, California, tragically lost his life on November 17, 2011, while in the line of duty. Officer Capoot was engaged in a high-speed chase with a bank robbery suspect when he executed a PIT maneuver to disable the suspect's vehicle. The chase continued on foot, leading Capoot into a residential area where he was shot multiple times in the backyard of a residence.
