The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers who responded to the scene found both victims and the suspect, Israel Lopez, at the residence. Israel, a 25-year-old Latino, was taken into custody without incident, and the alleged murder weapon was recovered at the scene. He was held without bail at the Men's Central Jail in Los Angeles. His next court appearance was scheduled for November 26, 2012, at the Los Angeles Municipal Court.
