Gabriel Soto, a 21-year-old former Garfield High School football player, was tragically shot and killed on May 25, 2013, in East Los Angeles. Soto was attending a party with friends in a garage on South McDonnell Avenue when a man approached and opened fire. The shooting occurred around 3 a.m., and Soto was one of two individuals struck by the gunfire.
