Margarita Gomez, a 68-year-old resident of Santa Monica, California, tragically lost her life on June 7, 2013, during a violent shooting spree. Gomez, who was known for her daily routine of collecting recyclables around the Santa Monica College campus, was one of five victims killed in the incident. On that fateful Friday, she deviated from her usual schedule and was outside the college library when the gunman, John Zawahri, opened fire.
