Esteban Efrain Martinez, an 18-year-old Latino, tragically lost his life on August 6, 2013, two days after being shot on August 4, 2013. The incident occurred in the 2000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. Martinez was standing in an open parking lot area behind a duplex with other individuals when he was shot. He was immediately taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries two days later.
