On December 30, 2013, a tragic incident occurred in Fontana, California, resulting in the deaths of Ramon Miranda Jr., aged 12, along with his father Ramon Miranda Sr., aged 38, his mother Silvia Miranda, aged 34, and his sister Rayna Miranda, aged 10. The family was discovered in their home on Palmetto Avenue after a 16-year-old boy, who was Silvia Miranda's son from a previous relationship, called the police upon finding the bodies.
