Steven Joseph Ruiz, a 48-year-old resident of West Covina, California, was tragically shot and killed on June 25, 2014, in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, Ruiz was walking south on South Avenue 19 shortly before 2 p.m. when he was approached by at least one individual who opened fire.
