Andres Castaneda, a 27-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on October 3, 2014, in East Los Angeles. The incident occurred in the 1300 block of Amalia Avenue. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, Castaneda was sitting in a blue pickup truck when three men, described by sheriff’s deputies as Latinos, approached him and began shooting. Despite his attempt to drive away, Castaneda ended up crashing into a parked car. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:28 p.m. ...
