On October 22, 2014, nine-year-old Ximena Meza was tragically killed in Anaheim, California. Ximena was playing with her sisters in front of their apartment complex when she was struck by a bullet during a gang-related shooting. The incident occurred in the 2300 block of West Greenacre Avenue, a neighborhood known for gang activity. Ximena was shot in the chest and, despite efforts to resuscitate her, she succumbed to her injuries at UCI Medical Center.
