Perla Avina, a 30-year-old mother of four, tragically lost her life on October 26, 2014, in East Oakland, California, in what authorities described as a road rage incident. Avina was traveling with her husband, Luis Lopez Gallegos, in their 1998 Toyota Camry when they encountered another driver on 98th Avenue.
