He was a devoted father to his son, Mason, and had recently begun attending church to find his way with God.

shop in the 5900 block of South Broadway in Florence, Los Angeles, to pick up his vehicle. At approximately 1:50 p.m., a gunman approached him and fired several shots. VanHorecbeek was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:04 p.m. The incident was classified as a homicide, and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) launched an investigation to identify the perpetrator and uncover the motive behind the shooting.
