Mary Matsumoto, a 72-year-old resident of San Pedro, Los Angeles, was found dead on January 14, 2015. Her death was the result of a tragic domestic incident. Concerned for her mother's safety, Mary Matsumoto's daughter requested a welfare check after not hearing from her for several days. Upon arrival, police discovered Mary Matsumoto in her bedroom with three gunshot wounds to her head. The coroner's records indicated that she had been deceased for at least a day before being found.
