Terri Kwan Smith, a 42-year-old woman from Los Angeles, California, tragically lost her life on April 14, 2014. She was fatally shot during a dispute with her roommate, Kenneth Theodrick Parks, over a $10 cable bill. The incident occurred in the 5700 block of South 9th Avenue in Hyde Park, where Smith resided in a transitional housing facility with her two children, aged 11 years and 20 months at the time.
