Leroy Hill, a 46-year-old man from Los Angeles, California, was tragically killed on March 14, 2015. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, Hill was sitting in a light-colored sedan around 11:50 p.m. on March 13 when two men on bicycles approached and one of them fired into the car. Hill was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after midnight.
The incident occurred in the 200 block of West 65th Street in the Florence neighborhood of Los Angeles.
The investigation into Hill's death led to the arrest of Javier Aginiga, a 21-year-old man who was charged with one count of murder. Aginiga was apprehended on May 18, 2015, and held on $2 million bail. The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office pursued the case, and Aginiga was scheduled to appear in court on July 8, 2015. The motive behind the shooting was not immediately clear, but the arrest marked a significant development in the case.
Hill's death was part of a broader pattern of violence in the area, and his murder drew attention to the ongoing issues of gang-related activities and street violence in Los Angeles.
