On November 7, 2024, at approximately 12:15 a.m., 17-year-old Juan Melendez Jr. and 18-year-old Denzell Guzman were fatally shot in Los Angeles' Mount Washington neighborhood. The incident occurred near a lookout point on the 1400 block of Cliff Drive. According to witnesses, a group of assailants approached the two teenagers, opened fire, and then fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle.
