three suspects: Morrison Haze Lampley, Sean Michael Angold, and Lila Scott Alligood. The trio was also linked to the murder of Steve Carter, a yoga teacher who was killed just days after Carey. Carter was shot while hiking in Marin County, and his car was stolen by the suspects.
The legal proceedings against the three suspects were extensive. Morrison Haze Lampley, identified as the triggerman in Carter's murder, was sentenced to 100 years to life in prison.
