Christian Sheppard, a 24-year-old resident of Berkeley, California, was tragically shot and killed on October 6, 2015. The incident occurred during a dice game in an alley located in the 1600 block of Julia Street, near Russell and California. Sheppard, who had recently been released from prison for a burglary conviction and was attempting to turn his life around, was playing dice with his childhood friend, Anthony Durant, when the fatal shooting took place.
