Tommy Christoph Gamez, a 25-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on January 1, 2016, in East Los Angeles. The incident occurred in the 600 block of Gerhart Avenue, a residential area. According to the Los Angeles County coroner's records, residents reported hearing gunshots and the sound of a speeding vehicle before discovering Gamez's car had crashed into three parked cars.
