Bertha Coombes, aged 83, was found dead on January 19, 2016, in her mobile home in Petaluma, California. The tragic incident was determined to be a murder-suicide involving her husband, Harold Coombes, aged 86. The couple had lived quietly in the Petaluma Estates Mobile Home Park for about ten years. Bertha, who was frail and bedridden, relied heavily on Harold for care. Neighbors described Harold as a devoted caregiver who preferred to manage without external help.
