Boston Keith Farley, a 23-year-old resident of Compton, California, tragically lost his life on May 15, 2016. Responding deputies found three individuals, two of whom had sustained gunshot wounds. Farley was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:22 p.m. The other victim, Richard Williams, was found dead at the scene, while the third person in the car was not injured.
Farley's death was part of a particularly violent period in Compton, with seven homicides occurring in May 2016 alone. Authorities have stated that neither Farley nor Williams had any gang affiliations and were likely targeted without reason. The incident was described as an "execution" by Compton Mayor Aja Brown, highlighting the brutal nature of the attack. Surveillance footage captured a white pickup truck, believed to be a Chevy or General Motors vehicle with ladder racks and built-in side toolboxes, fleeing the scene.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the suspects involved. Despite the efforts of law enforcement and the community, the case remains unsolved. A reward of $20,000 was offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the double homicide. This reward was a combination of contributions from the county supervisors, the victims' families, and city officials.
Farley's family has been vocal in their plea for justice, describing him as a caring and outgoing individual who was not involved in any criminal activities. He had recently secured a job at a warehouse and aspired to return to school to become a barber. Farley left behind a young son and was deeply loved by his family and friends.
