Christopher Corey Serrano, a 26-year-old Latino, was fatally shot on August 21, 2016, in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the 100 block of South Gless Street. Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollenbeck Division responded to a call reporting a shooting and found Serrano lying in the street with a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, Serrano succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
