Loui Javier Martinez, a 28-year-old Latino, was fatally shot on October 22, 2016, near the intersection of Alameda and East 38th Street in Vernon, Los Angeles County. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. when Vernon police responded to a call regarding a shooting in the area.
