Santiago Avalos Sanchez, a 28-year-old resident of Soquel, California, tragically lost his life on December 12, 2016. The incident occurred in the afternoon on North Rodeo Gulch Road at Soquel Drive, where Sanchez was one of the victims in a double shooting. The other victim, Maria Ponce Rocha, a 32-year-old woman from Watsonville, was critically injured but survived after undergoing surgery. The shooting took place in broad daylight, causing significant alarm in the community.
