Jeffrey Tkac, a 53-year-old councilmember from Bakersfield, California, tragically passed away on January 5, 2017. Tkac was found deceased in his home in Southwest Bakersfield. The Bakersfield Police Department responded to a call at his residence on Dinard Place, where they discovered Tkac with a gunshot wound. A firearm was found at the scene, and the initial investigation pointed towards an apparent suicide. The Kern County Coroner later confirmed that Tkac died from a self-inflicted gunshot ...
