On July 18, 2017, at approximately 1:50 a.m., 28-year-old Fernando Mendez Jr. was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Fantasy Castle, a gentlemen's club located at 2800 Walnut Avenue in Signal Hill, California. Mendez, a resident of Long Beach, was celebrating a friend's birthday with companions when the incident occurred. As he stood in the parking lot, an unidentified male approached and shot him multiple times, resulting in Mendez's death at the scene. Two women accompanying him were also ...
