21 year old found dead near sidewalk In the warm afternoon of a late September day in New Orleans, 21-year-old Brodrick L. Anderson, known to his loved ones as 'Butta,' lost his life. On Friday, September 24, 2010, at approximately 12:45 p.m., the young Black man was shot and killed. His body was discovered on a patch of grass near the sidewalk at the intersection of South Liberty and Terpsichore streets.
Brodrick was a son, a brother, a grandson, and a friend to many.
His sudden and violent death left a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. He was the beloved son of Kerry Lacy and the late Cheryl A. Anderson. He was a brother to Shyann and Vincent Anderson, Latara Mack, and Kerry Pittman, and the grandson of Josie Anderson. He also left behind his girlfriend, Demetrus Franklin, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. His family and friends laid him to rest on Friday, October 1, 2010.
In the years that have passed since Brodrick Anderson's life was cut short, his case has remained unsolved. Despite the initial investigation and the passage of time, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects in his murder.
