Davaughn Brown, a 25-year-old resident of Berkeley, was tragically killed on April 30, 2018, in a double homicide in East Oakland. The incident occurred late at night when Oakland police officers responded to gunshots heard in the 1400 block of 89th Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered Brown and his girlfriend, 19-year-old Jasmine Turner, both suffering from gunshot wounds inside a parked vehicle.
