On July 2, 2018, Calixto Ramirez, aged 51, was found dead in a maroon Chevrolet pickup truck on the Ridgewood Grade near Willits, California. The Mendocino County Sheriff's Office, along with California Highway Patrol officers and local firefighters, responded to a report of a vehicle blocking traffic. Upon arrival, they discovered Calixto Ramirez deceased from gunshot wounds, and his son, Miguel Angel Ramirez Davila, critically injured.
