On July 13, 2018, Sequoyah Callahan Gavin, an 18-year-old resident of Hemet, California, was tragically shot in the head and killed in the Stoney Mountain Ranch neighborhood of northwest Hemet. The incident occurred at a home on the 1100 block of Stepstone Court, near Warren Road and Esplanade Avenue.
