Mario Thomas, a 36-year-old resident of Oakland, California, tragically lost his life on August 27, 2018. The incident occurred in the 7100 block of International Boulevard in East Oakland. Thomas was fatally shot in the head by his longtime friend, Roosevelt Vines. According to Vines, the shooting was accidental; he claimed that he was showing off his gun to Thomas when it suddenly discharged, resulting in a single fatal shot to Thomas's head.
