Sergio Mares, a 42-year-old resident of Sun Valley, Los Angeles, was tragically shot and killed on December 17, 2018. The incident occurred in the parking lot of the Valley Plaza Recreation Center, located at the intersection of Archwood Street and Laurelgrove Avenue in North Hollywood. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, Mares was working on his car when two men approached him and opened fire. He was struck multiple times by gunshots.
