Paola Minero, a 23-year-old resident of Desert Hot Springs, California, tragically lost her life on January 13, 2019, in Cathedral City. The incident occurred in the parking lot of a Big 5 Sporting Goods store located on Date Palm Drive. According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, Minero was shot and killed by Roberto Tapia, a 28-year-old man from La Quinta.
