Maribel Merino Ibanez, a 28-year-old woman from San Diego, California, tragically lost her life on November 6, 2019, in a shooting incident at a Church's Chicken restaurant in Otay Mesa. The incident occurred after a man attempted to use a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase food. When the bill was refused, the man left the restaurant, only to return minutes later with a handgun.
