In the early hours of a Thursday morning in March 2012, a young man named Gunner Williamson, a 22-year-old white male, was found unresponsive on the 1300 block of Bob Pettit Boulevard in the Tigerland area of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He had reportedly walked to a nearby store to get a soft drink when he was brutally attacked, beaten, and robbed just a short distance from his apartment.
