Rene Francisco Arostegui, a 20-year-old resident of Moreno Valley, California, was found dead on February 1, 2020, in Coachella, California. His body was discovered inside a parked vehicle on Calle Cathron by Riverside County sheriff's deputies who were responding to an unrelated disturbance call. Upon arrival, deputies found Arostegui with traumatic injuries from gunshots and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into his death was immediately classified as a homicide.
